Mongolia in Ten Bullet Points

11 days after returning from Mongolia, I am still struggling to put up a decently descriptive post. Most probably because of the overwhelming visuals I have brought with me in my camera - more than 2400 images and videos (20 GB).
Let me give you a snapshot of Mongolia in 10 bullet points

  • Incredibly blue skies
  • Vast expanses of land without a single tree
  • Extremely windy
  • Too many animals and very less people (outnumbered by a factor of 20)
  • Nomads who live in Gers
  • Excellent roads (where available)
  • Great road discipline (both by drivers and pedestrians)
  • Buddhism (a remarkable Indian legacy)
  • Chinggis Khaan, a revered figure.
  • A country reinventing its identity and carving out a niche.
