A Felliniesque World
Basking in the lingering afterglow of constructing the weekly quiz, I took off for a stroll. It led me aimlessly through the lanes and alleys of a quaint and decadent quarter of the megalopolis. It was sunny, but not too bright. The air was pregnant with moisture.
I paused often to admire the old buildings that will soon be obliterated to make way for modern comforts and sensibilities. My mind wanted to cling on to this old world. Very few people were up and about. A woman walking her snow-white dog and talking loudly on her cellphone. An old gent in pyjamas was eyeing me curiously from the second floor balcony as I pulled out my phone and clicked pictures.
I felt oddly at ease in this
charmingly decaying world, feeding my eyes and lungs with nostalgia. Time
stopped out of kindness, allowing me to savour the Felliniesque world around
me.
