Mongolia is a very colourful
country. The vast unending expanse of steppes with varying shades of green and
yellow. The sands of Gobi Desert in shifting hues of russet, brown and grey.
The stones of granite hills glow in fiery crimson during sunrise and sunset. The
warm inviting orange, infused with spiritual overtones, inside Gers. But the
definitive colour of Mongolia is blue. The blueness of its sky. Every
travelogue of Mongolia worth their salt sings paeans of its blue sky. But
still, when you step out of the pretty Chinggis Khaan airport at Ulaanbaatar
and gaze heavenwards, you gasp - wow. And the camera immediately goes into a
burst of clicks.
Over the next few days, as we went deeper into the desert, the
clouds started thinning and the sky took an even deeper hue of blue. The
skyscapes were straight out of movies and Nat Geo. Back home, the first
pictures I posted on social media evoked comparisons with Windows screen
savers. Without any further ado, I present to you the BLUE skies of Mongolia.
Gorgeous.. Have been telling my aunt I wanna do a trip, she says will plan one after she & uncle do their 1st time together.... But does tell me it is a fairly dry empty place, weather is extreme and area is pretty dry. [ like what you have shown in these images].. do share more, how did you plan the trip, cost, visa etc as well.. thank you
